The flight of a luminous object was noticed by eyewitnesses near the border of Iran and Iraq, SİA informs referring to TASS.
Footage from social networks was distributed by the Iranian agency Jamaran.
The footage taken by residents of the city of Ahvaz in Khuzestan province on the border with Iraq shows a large luminous object flying towards Iraq. Later, footage from the Iraqi side was published on social networks, in which the glow of the object intensifies and eyewitnesses begin to react emotionally to what happened. Iranian and Iraqi officials have not yet commented on this information.
The videos are circulating on social media amid tensions following an April 1 Israeli airstrike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, which killed 13 people, including two generals of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Tehran would make Israel regret the strike, and the republic’s President Ebrahim Raisi promised that the attack would not go unanswered.
