New features coming to WhatsApp in 2023

WhatsApp plans to launch several new features in 2023. Some of them are already being tested by users in the beta version, and soon they will be available to everyone. Others will be available during the year.

Transfer of data between Android devices

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow users to transfer data, including chat history, from one Android device to another. Users can still move and transfer their data using a Google Drive backup, but the new update will allow them to do the same without third-party apps.

Complaints about posts

WhatsApp currently allows its users to file complaints about messages that violate this platform's rules. Soon, the platform will also allow you to file a complaint about other users' posts if they contain problematic content such as hate speech, insults, etc.

Saving disappearing messages

The platform is working also on a feature that will enable users to save important messages in the chat window with disappearing messages.

The new feature will allow users to bookmark and save disappearing messages so that they are not automatically deleted along with other messages during a pre-set period of time. All participants in the chat will be able to see the saved message. WhatsApp will also allow users to unsave a message at any time and remove it from the chat.

Connecting to WhatsApp with a proxy server

WhatsApp is blocked in many countries due to government censorship, and therefore users in these countries cannot download this app directly from Google Play Store or App Store.

However, the platform is expected to introduce proxy server support soon, and users worldwide will be able to use the app freely and securely.

Lots of functions in PC version

For users of the PC version of WhatsApp, a new feature will be introduced this year that will enable them to select multiple chats at once, which will make it easier to mute a chat or mark a chat as read or unread.

Recovery of deleted messages

WhatsApp users will be able to undo chat posts after deleting them and recover accidentally deleted messages. Granted, this will only apply to the "delete for me" option for now.
