Azerbaijan will be represented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France, the world's largest and oldest animation festival. The festival will be held on June 13-18, SIA reports.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the Annecy festival by the Animafilm organizers Rashid Agamaliyev and Nazrin Agamaliyeva and director Javid Ahadov.
Javid Ahadov is the animator of the Birlik animation studio of Firangiz Gurbanova, the winner of the 4th Animafilm Festival. His participation in Annecy was made possible by the Birlik studio's awarding of the 4th Animafilm Festival's "Best Azerbaijani Short Animated Film" award. The sponsors of the award were the French Institute in Azerbaijan (IFA), the French Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Annecy Festival itself.
We would like to remind you that the competition program of the 5th Animafilm Festival continues to accept films. This year, the Animafilm Festival will present a traditional award in the category "Best Azerbaijani Short Animated Film" in partnership with the French Embassy in Azerbaijan and IFA and with the support of the Annecy Festival. The winner in this category will receive a professional accreditation called MIFA in 2023 and participate in the Annecy Festival in France. All travel and accommodation expenses of the winner will be covered by IFA. Local authors can apply with their films until July 15.
In addition, admission to the children's jury of the 5th Animafilm Festival continues. The winners of the "Best Short Animated Film for Children" and "Best Animated Short Film Made by Children" competitions will be determined by children's voting. The application for selection to the children's jury will last until July 15.
The 5th Animafilm International Animation Festival will be held on September 7-11, 2022. The theme of this year's festival is climate change.
According to the decision of the organizers, all proceeds from ticket sales will be spent on planting trees.
