Azerbaijan presents cultural tourism at international exhibition in Bulgaria

Azerbaijan was represented at the 20th International “Cultural Tourism” Exhibition held in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, from October 8-10, by the Shusha City State Reserve Administration and the country’s embassy in Bulgaria, SİA reports.

The Shusha City State Reserve Administration showcased the city’s historical and cultural uniqueness, tourism potential, and natural beauty through photographs, English-language tourism booklets, and brochures. Representatives provided exhibition attendees with detailed information on Shusha’s tourist sites, access routes, and restoration projects carried out under the direct supervision of President Ilham Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani embassy presented a national stand highlighting the country’s cultural tourism assets, ancient history, traditions, rich culture, and natural landscapes, along with national souvenirs, carpets, and culinary samples. Additionally, with support from the Baku Media Center, photographs emphasizing Shusha’s historical and cultural elements, stunning nature, and architectural style were displayed.

During the exhibition, the Azerbaijani delegation met with the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo, Daniel Panov, to discuss expanding cultural and tourism ties between the sister cities of Shusha and Veliko Tarnovo, including organizing mutual visits, cultural and tourism events, and experience exchanges.

The annual “Cultural Tourism” exhibition, organized by Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism along with relevant authorities, gathers local and international municipal representatives and is recognized as the only specialized platform for cultural tourism in the Balkan region, lasting three days.
