Spanish leftist coalition withdraws support for minority government over Israel's Eurovision participation

The leader of the outspoken leftist party "Podemos" in Spain, Ione Belarra, has shifted her allegiance to the opposition by retracting support for the minority leftist coalition government.

This decision comes in protest against Israel's participation in "Eurovision," urging all democratic countries to boycott the event, SIA reports.

"If Israel, responsible for committing genocide, attends 'Eurovision,' no country that upholds human rights and democratic values should participate. It is a disgraceful stain," Belarra expressed her stance on her "X" social media account.

The "Podemos" party has been actively working to prevent Israel's participation in "Eurovision" since January 2024, citing allegations of genocide in the attacks on Gaza.
