Armenia erased Azerbaijan's 47 unregistered monuments from earth during occupation

“During the occupation of Azerbaijan's lands for nearly 30 years, cultural and historical monuments were damaged. During these years, toponyms of Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur were changed, cultural and historical heritage was illegally exploited and presented as Armenian heritage,” said Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Saadat Yusifova during her speech at the opening of the Cultural Heritage Forum that's being held for the first time in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The deputy minister added that 705 historical and cultural monuments were registered in Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur: "We have many historical and archaeological monuments that were not registered by Azerbaijan, they were destroyed during the occupation period, and 47 monuments were erased from the face the earth."
