Baku is for the first time hosting MINEPS conference with the participation of not only ministers, but also athletes and representatives of the private sector, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences, Gabriela Ramos said.
According to Report, she spoke at the opening of the 7th International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sports (MINEPS VII) in Baku.
Therefore, this forum will be historic, she said.
According to her, the field of physical culture and sports constantly faces various challenges.
The topic of sports should also always remain on the agenda along with education and culture, she said.
Gabriela Ramos called for more investment in sports, more active promotion of its development in all countries.
The UNESCO assistant director-general stressed the importance of ensuring gender equality in sports.
