The winners of the 2023 Baku Dance Championship, organized by the Azerbaijan Youth Union and the Azerbaijan Dance Association, have been determined.
SIA reports that the championship was held in solo, duet, small group, group, ensemble and large ensemble nominations.
Representatives of Baku and regions of the country took part in the competition.
"At the held championship, we saw the performances of both familiar collectives and newcomers who decided to show their talents. There was serious competition in every nomination, but the competition of three collectives in the Folk Style ensemble nomination stood out the most. The judges tried to come to a common opinion until the end and finally made a decision. I congratulate the "Free Dance" team, especially their artistic director Rahim Babayev, on their victory. I wish them great success in the future as well. I also congratulate the "Baku Rhythm Group" ensemble, Rahman Imanov and "Alov" ensemble on their victory under the leadership of Emil Panakhov!" , the chairman of the organizing committee Aziz Azizov said.
The grand prix winner was Lamiya Hajizadeh, the soloist of the Khachmaz Children's Art School in the Folklore Stylization category.
