Poland to create an army that will "frighten the enemy with its appearance alone", says PM

"Those who sit in the current Polish government are conducting an effective policy, provided that they do not make the mistakes of their predecessors," Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki shared in a post on social media, SIA reports, citing Russian media.

"We are not making the mistakes of our predecessors, who sat quietly in order not to agitate the Russian bear. Our policy is effective - it woke up many European countries from their geopolitical slumber, and subsequent governments will prove us right," the Prime Minister added.

Morawiecki also added that Warsaw should create an army "that will frighten the enemy with its appearance alone". Poland needs a stable budget for these purposes, which according to the Prime Minister, it has.

He also noted that in 2023, Warsaw intends to spend 100-130 billion zlotys ($22-29 billion), or 3-4 percent of the country's GDP, on military spending.
