Russian official confirms the death of a conscript

Yelena Rogova, the Commissioner for Human Rights of Penza region, confirmed the death of a 41-year-old man who was called up as part of the mobilization, SIA reports, citing RBC news.

The russian conscript has reportedly died after he tried to escape from a window using a rope made of bed sheets, according to media in the country.

According to Rogova, the reason for the conscript's death was "a sharp violation of one of the body's functions." She was informed about this by the commander of the military unit.

The ombudsman did not disclose further details, as the information about the call for mobilization is restricted access information.

In her message to RBC, Rogova confirmed her earlier statement. On October 5, "PenzaInform" published the news about the death of the conscript, citing a source.

Earlier, news about a mobilized resident of Krasnoyarsk, dying after a conflict with a colleague in the Omsk military unit was also reported.
