Germany to provide Kyiv with IRIS-T air defense system

The German Ministry of Defense announced that they will soon be delivering "IRIS-T" air defense systems to Ukraine. SIA reports, citing German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.

"The renewed missile fire on Kyiv and many other cities makes it clear how important it is to deliver air defense systems to Ukraine quickly," said Lambrecht.

Germany has already given Ukraine "Gepard" self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, "M113" armored personnel carriers, "Stinger" man-portable air defense systems and other weapons.

Last summer, the German authorities announced that their plan to provide Kyiv with "IRIS-T" air defense systems in the coming weeks.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbok stated that Berlin is "on the verge" of supplying arms to Kiev.
