Sergey Lavrov assesses current topics on the agenda

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned the United States of America (USA) and its allies not to intervene further in the situation in Ukraine.

Sergey Lavrov, who participated in the online meeting of the "United Russia" political party, made statements regarding the current issues on the agenda.

Evaluating the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Sergey Lavrov said that: "NATO should carry out a pre-emptive attack against Russia. This person revealed to the whole world another proof of threats from the Kyiv regime. We launched a special military operation on February 24 to eliminate these threats."

Stating that the US and its allies are trying to threaten the international community with the possibility of using nuclear weapons, Lavrov added: "We warn the United States and other sponsors of the Kyiv regime not to intervene further in the situation in Ukraine.

The foundations of Russia's nuclear deterrence policy and military doctrine remain unchanged. The efforts of Washington and those who serve the Washington leadership are aimed at intimidating the international community."

Noting that NATO and the European Union (EU) continue to support Ukraine, the Russian minister said: "Zelensky and his administration have started presenting their conditions to NATO and the EU."
