Cavusoglu: Turkiye to increase its military presence in Cyprus

Turkiye will increase its military presence in Cyprus and supply all the necessary weapons to the north of the island to protect the interests of the Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a meeting with students of Pamukkale University, SİA informs via Anadolu agency.

The Turkish minister stressed that Ankara would take all necessary steps to defend the interests of the Turkish community on the island.

“Even if the whole world gets in our way, Turkiye will not deviate from its position and will defend its interests in Cyprus, as well as in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas,” Cavusoglu said.

Cavusoglu assured that Ankara will use all leverage to support Turkish Cyprus.
