France plans to train Ukrainian soldiers in Poland

France is preparing to hold a five-week training course for Ukrainian soldiers in Poland by the end of this year.

According to the Russian media, "Monde" newspaper reports about this with reference to a source in the Ministry of Defense of France, SIA reports.

"The Ministry of Defense has decided to support the training mission of Ukrainian soldiers agreed by the European Union this summer and has developed the main principles of participation in it. The French army stationed in Poland will conduct five weeks of training in specialized military camps there. The General Staff expressed its desire to speed up this process and start work by the end of 2022."

Earlier, a number of European countries, including Denmark and Spain, expressed their intention to start their own training programs for the Ukrainian army without waiting for the general program of the European Union.

Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, who is on a visit to Kyiv, stated that she plans to discuss the issue of sending a ship with aid cargo to Ukraine in meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

The French minister also informed about the plans to strengthen the support for Ukraine.
