The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will send 50,000 tons of grain to starving African countries.
According to the information obtained by SIA, this was stated in the relevant decision of the government.
The document states that the wheat will be sent to Ethiopia and Somalia. The joint-stock company State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine will also allocate grain from its reserves, after which the reserve fund of the state budget will compensate the company with 420 million hryvnias (about 683 million rubles).
According to the resolution, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country should agree with the UN on the future logistics issues, as well as the payment from the funds of international organizations for the transportation of grain from the Odessa Sea Trade Port to the ports of these countries.
