Vladimir Putin: Unison of Moscow and Beijing plays key role in ensuring global stability

As reported previously, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is being held in Samarkand. Within the framework of the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Kremlin website reports that the Russian president made a number of important statements during the meeting.

During the bilateral meeting, Putin wished success to the President of the People's Republic of China in the implementation of a large-scale plan for the dynamic development of the Chinese people, SIA refers to Russian media.

The Russian president emphasized that:

- the international agenda is changing, but the friendship between Russia and China remains unchanged;

- relations between powers continue to strengthen;

- The foreign policy unison of Moscow and Beijing plays a key role in ensuring global and regional stability;

- Russia and China support the formation of a multipolar world order based on the principles of justice, respect for international law and recognition of the central role of the UN;

- Moscow firmly and unshakably adheres to the principle of "one China";

- The Russian Federation highly appreciates Beijing's balanced position regarding the Ukrainian conflict.

In addition, Vladimir Putin noted that multi-sectoral relations between the powers, especially in the economic sphere, are actively developing. In 2021, the trade turnover increased by 35 percent and exceeded 140 billion dollars, and this year it increased by another 25 percent.

According to Putin, the trade turnover between the two countries is planned to reach 200 billion dollars.
