Head of European Commission: EU will help rebuild Ukraine 'on its path to the EU'
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen assured that the European Union will help rebuild Ukraine after the war unleashed by Russia, according to SİA.
"Ukrainians are fighting bravely for their future. They are also fighting for our common values. The EU has been at their side since day 1 of Russia’s war. We will help rebuild Ukraine as a free, modern country on its path to the EU," the European Commission president tweeted.
On September 9, the Council of the European Union approved the allocation of a tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 5 billion euros. The funds will be used to support the day-to-day operations of the state and ensure the operation of critical infrastructure.
