Albania cuts ties with Iran over cyberattack

The Albanian government has decided to cut off diplomatic relations with Iran.

Albania decided to terminate diplomatic relations with Iran over “intense cyber-attacks,” the Albanian Council of Ministers said on Wednesday, SIA cites foreign media.

The decision enters into force without delay," said the Prime Minister's statement published on the government website.

It was noted that an official notice was sent to the Iranian embassy that all diplomats and employees of the diplomatic mission should leave the country within 24 hours.

Tirana has blamed the issue on Tehran.

It was reported that all systems are fully functional and there is no irreversible deletion of data.
