The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia expressed concern over the escalation in the territories of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, SİA informs, citing TASS.
"Russia calls on the parties to the conflict to exercise restraint and observe the ceasefire regime. The contradictions in Karabakh should be solved diplomatically," the ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry said that the country's top leadership, as well as Lavrov, is in close contact with his colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the situation in Karabakh.
