Flooding in southern Iran has killed at least 17 people and left six others missing following heavy rainfall in the largely arid country.
Around 5:00 p.m. yesterday, heavy rains in the towns of Ij and Roodbal in the central parts of Estehban County led to flooding, SIA cites "Al-Arabiya" TV channel.
Yousef Kargar, governor of the county in Fars province, was quoted saying "employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued 55 people from floods, and at least 6 people are still missing."
