Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Istanbul for the signing ceremony of the agreement on the transportation of grain-laden ships waiting in Ukrainian ports.
SIA reports with reference to AZERTAC that, this was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.
Within the framework of the visit, the Russian minister also had a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.
At the meeting where bilateral and regional defense as well as security issues were discussed, Minister Akar once again emphasized the need for an urgent ceasefire in Ukraine.
The Turkish minister expressed his gratitude to his Russian counterpart for his contribution to the safe transportation of grain and food products in Ukrainian ports by sea.
