“Mr. McAlister, I'm glad to see you. I remember our meeting. I know you did not vote in favor of this resolution. But unfortunately, many European parliamentarians attacked us without any reason," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said on July 19 as he received a delegation headed by David McAllister, Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Relations.
The head of state noted that Azerbaijan wants to build close relations with Europe.
"But if the European Parliament thinks about choosing such a path, it is their choice. They should know that it is impossible to isolate Europe from Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan from Europe, despite the efforts of some members of the parliament," the Azerbaijani leader said.
