Man charged for murder after fatal shooting of Shinzo Abe

Official charges have been brought against the person who shot former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

41-year-old Tesua Yamagami was brought from the police station to the prosecutor's office, where he was charged with intentional homicide.

Shinzo Abe was shot by a gun in the city of Nara, where he was visiting as part of his election campaign. The politician, who was taken to the hospital, died a few hours later. The suspect was immediately detained by the security service.
