Two explosions occur in Russia's Belgorod Region

Several explosions occurred in the city of Belgorod, located in the border region of Russia with Ukraine.

According to information obtained by SIA from Russian websites, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, wrote about this.

"I woke up to the sound of two powerful explosions half an hour ago. According to the anti-crisis center, there were no reports of casualties or damage. Footage showing flashes in the sky has emerged on social media," he pointed out. The governor added that the details of the incident would be provided later on Monday.

Incidents of infrastructure damage occur regularly in Russia. For example, on June 20, the governor of the Bryansk region of Russia, Aleksandr Bogomaz, said that the village of Suzemka was allegedly fired from Ukraine, and before that, it was fired from Russia. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not comment on this information.

On June 14, loud explosions occurred in the village of Zaymish, Klintsi district of Bryansk region, and on May 1, a fire broke out in one of the facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Belgorod region.

Such incidents are believed to be aimed at undermining Russia's ability to attack Ukraine. For example, the British Ministry of Defense assumed that the explosions at the ammunition depot near Belgorod at the end of March and the destruction of the oil depot in this city may have complicated Russian attacks on Kharkiv.

However, Ukraine has not directly confirmed any involvement in the events. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, said that Ukraine was not involved in the explosions at the oil base in Belgorod in early April. According to him, this is the work of local residents, because disagreements accumulate and society in Russia begins to "figure something out".
