Ilham Aliyev: One million Azerbaijanis became refugees, IDPs due to Armenian occupation

Azerbaijan is a country that faced one of the biggest injustices in the world – occupation by Armenia of almost 20 percent of its territories, which resulted in ethnic cleansing, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network today, SİA informs.

“One million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced persons. Our historical and religious heritage was erased by Armenian occupiers,” President Aliyev said.

The president added that now, the visitors of the liberated territories can see it with their own eyes.

President Aliyev also noted the Armenian barbarism, vandalism, desecration of mosques, and destruction of Azerbaijan’s religious and cultural monuments. “These are all facts. No one can ignore it,” he added.
