Can Kiev defeat Russians in Donbass?

"No one knows" how long the conflict in Ukraine will last, but it is necessary to be prepared that it may "last for years."

Currently, the supply of modern weapons could allow Ukrainian troops to regain control of the Donbass, and thus the conflict could last "for years."

According to the info obtained by SIA from Russian websites, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg does not rule out that "Kiev, equipped with more modern weapons, may increase the likelihood of defeating Russian troops in the Donbass region."

Stoltenberg does not hide the fact that NATO will continue to support Ukraine's self-defense, but will not be part of the conflict.

He says the military-political bloc, NATO, will no longer send troops to Ukraine.

The Secretary-General also acknowledged that the alliance he heads has not seen the Russian Federation's nuclear forces beginning to train at a higher level.

According to him, "no one knows" how long the conflict in Ukraine will last, but it is necessary to be prepared that "it can last for years."

Some time ago, Stoltenberg described the war waged by Ukraine in defense of their country, which didn't pose any threat to Russia, as a just war.

"Peace is possible in Ukraine," he said. The question is what it will cost: how much territory, freedom and democracy we are willing to pay for this peace. NATO intends to help Ukraine strengthen its position at the negotiating table with Russia.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg voiced these views at a press conference of the Alliance in Helsinki, Finland.
