"China does not provide any financial assistance to Russia"

The state of war in Ukraine has led to a number of changes in the international arena.

This statement came from Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe during a speech at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore, SIA reports quoting Russian websites.

According to him, the international geopolitical landscape has undergone significant changes since the COVID-19 pandemic. And the situation in Ukraine has exacerbated these changes.

"... There is more crisis and chaos now, and our world is neither peaceful nor calm," Fenghe stated that, China is in favor of a speedy settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but does not like the methods of Western countries

The head of the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China stressed that, first of all, it is necessary to achieve a fruitful dialogue between the parties.

"Conflict or war is the last thing China wants to see in Ukraine. At the same time, we do not believe that the application of maximum pressure and sanctions will solve the problem, "said the Chinese minister.

Wei Fenghe added that the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by Europe and the United States today only aggravate the situation and do not contribute to peace.

The minister also stressed that China has not provided any financial assistance to Russia.
