Turkiye has informed NATO about the use of the name "Turkiye" in foreign languages.
The Permanent Mission of Turkiye to NATO sent a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg last week, SIA reports.
The letter contains information on the use of the name "Turkiye" in foreign languages. In a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General earlier this week, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu said that Turkiye's name in foreign languages was registered at the UN as "Turkiye".
The UN also changed the name of the country, which was used as "Turkey", to "Turkiye" at Turkiye's request.
After that, Turkiye sent a note to the relevant departments of the European Union, after which it was stated that the name "Turkiye" will be officially used in foreign languages.
