Turkiye has informed NATO about the use of the name "Turkiye" in foreign languages.

The Permanent Mission of Turkiye to NATO sent a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg last week, SIA reports.

The letter contains information on the use of the name "Turkiye" in foreign languages. In a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General earlier this week, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu said that Turkiye's name in foreign languages ​​was registered at the UN as "Turkiye".

The UN also changed the name of the country, which was used as "Turkey", to "Turkiye" at Turkiye's request.

After that, Turkiye sent a note to the relevant departments of the European Union, after which it was stated that the name "Turkiye" will be officially used in foreign languages.
