Twelve coal miners have died and six remain trapped underground after an explosion in a coal mine in Colombia.
SIA reports quoting the statement of the National Mining Agency.
"We continue to assist in the rescue operation at the La Mestisa mine in El Zulia. So far, the rescue team has exhumed 11 bodies," the statement said.
Earlier, it was reported that the bodies of 6 missing miners were found. Immediately after the explosion, another miner was taken to hospital with burns, but doctors were unable to save him.
The explosion at the mine took place on May 30. Authorities say high concentrations of gas in the mine are hampering the search and rescue operation.
