Sexual violence against children in churches of France

In France, those who were sexually abused as children in churches will receive up to 60,000 euros in compensation.

SIA refers to Turkish websites.

According to local media, the National Independent Recognition and Compensation Organization (INIRR), established last year, will determine the amount of compensation to be paid to victims of childhood sexual violence in churches, taking into account the type of sexual violence, as well as the church's attitude towards the victim.

It should be noted that INIRR has decided that the compensation to be paid by the church administration will not exceed 60,000 euros.

So far, 735 people across the country have applied to INIRR for compensation for material or moral damage.

According to a report released last year by the Independent Commission on Sexual Violence in Churches (CIASE), 330,000 children in France have been sexually abused in churches and institutions since 1950.
