The man who shot the US president will be released

The man who shot former US President Ronald Reagan could be released on June 15.

SIA reports quoting APA that the incident took place on March 30, 1981. A bullet fired at the president, who was leaving a hotel in New York, jumped on an armored car and hit the president in the heart region. Additionally three people were also injured in the attack. Later on, security forces arrested the perpetrator, John Hankley.

Hankley, now 67, was forced to undergo psychiatric treatment by a court order and sent to live outside the city under police surveillance. He was not allowed to talk to Regan's relatives.
