The American Conservative writes that it is impossible for Ukraine to join the European Union through an accelerated procedure, because in principle there is no such procedure, and the process itself can be disastrous for the union.
The author further writes: "The special accession procedure would mean the adoption of special laws specifically alien to European law for this work. The establishment of a new procedure for this specific work will require the political consent of all member states."
It is a matter of changing EU standards, which could damage the existence of the union and become a threat.
As harsh as it may sound, the EU is not a charity, enlargement is essentially a business decision, and it is not made on the basis of whether the country deserves it on humanitarian grounds.
Earlier, the State Duma predicted the destruction of weapons provided by the United States to Ukraine.
