On May 20, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov delivered a speech at the 132nd session of the Committee of Ministers of the European Council in Turin city, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told SİA.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Italy on the successful completion of its chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and expressed our support for the future chairmanship of Ireland.Ad - 00:13
Noting that Azerbaijan respects the norms and principles of international law, as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity within the framework of internationally recognized borders of the states, said that the mentioned principles are the basis of international law, security, and stability.
The Head of MFA of the Republic of Azerbaijan has informed meeting participants about the current situation in the region and steps taken in the direction of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Noting that consistent efforts are currently continued by our side in the direction of normalization of relations between the two states, Minister has added that the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders which was held with mediation and participation of the President of the European Council in Brussels on April 6, has positively affected the process. Minister has brought to attention that according to results of the mentioned meeting, Foreign Ministers of both countries have been instructed on the start of development of peace treaty between two countries, as well as an agreement has been reached on the organization of Joint Border Commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders between two states.
