US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov on Monday held regular phone talks and discussed US military assistance to Kiev, among other things, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said at a news conference.
"The secretary also continued his routine conversations with the Ukrainian minister of defense - Minister Reznikov," Kirby said.
He said Austin highlighted to Reznikov President Joe Biden's announcement of an additional $150 million in military aid to Ukraine. The money will be used to provide Kiev with such items as artillery, counter-artillery radars and electronic jamming equipment, Kirby said.
Resnikov shared with Austin his view of the situation on the battlefield, according to the spokesman.
