EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said he would convene a meeting of EU foreign ministers next week if they do not quickly reach an agreement on an embargo on Russian oil.
He was speaking at a conference in Florence on the future of Europe, SİA informs citing TASS.
“We are working to ensure that an agreement is reached, and it will be reached. But if this does not happen in a short time, namely before the end of the week, after Europe Day - May 9 - I will convene a meeting of foreign ministers,” Borrell said.
He added that he considered it unacceptable to link the discussion of this issue with the distribution of European funds.
