"We carried out another complex evacuation operation from Mariupol and its Azovstal steel plant. We could evacuate about 500 citizens, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said, SİA informs.
"Ukraine will continue to do its best to save all civilians and servicemen. I thank the UN for its help," he said.
The evacuation of the population of Mariupol, most of which has been occupied by Russia, became impossible due to the siege. On April 28, UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani left for the eastern region of Zaporizhzhia to evacuate Mariupol residents at the request of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
