The government spokesman reacted to Gazprom's decision not to supply gas to Poland and Bulgaria in violation of the agreements.
According to him, Russia's position on gas supplies to individual countries confirmed the impossibility of relying on it in the long run.
Following the decision, Berlin launched an effort to reduce its dependence on Russian gas.
"The sooner this happens, the better it is," a government spokesman said.
