The easing of sanctions against Russia could be included in the peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev. This was stated in an interview with the Financial Times by US Deputy Secretary of State for Economy and Energy Jose Fernandez.
The State Department spokesman also stressed that the final decision should be made by the Ukrainian authorities.
"... Our sanctions are always applied with the understanding that they can be lifted if necessary," he said.
