Zelensky: "14,000 Ukrainians have been killed in eight years"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that 14,000 Ukrainians have died by Russian attacks in the past eight years.

In a recent video message, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russia's war against Ukraine did not start on February 24, and that the Russian army has been attacking Ukraine since 2014, SIA reports.

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Russia had seized Crimea and turned it into a major military base, the Black Sea and Azov into the most dangerous seas in the world.

"They started a terrible and endless war in our Donbas. They killed our people for eight years. During this time, 14,000 people were killed," he said.

The Ukrainian leader noted that Russia has decided to start a full-scale war because the world has remained silent about what is being done against Ukraine.
