Italy is considering sending additional weapons to Ukraine, according to La Repubblica newspaper, SİA informs referring to TASS.
The corresponding interdepartmental decree may be signed as early as next week and will include the allocation of additional funding for the implementation of this measure.
The decree, the second in a row, should not be approved in parliament, since the legislature had previously approved the decision to send weapons to Ukraine with a small number of parliamentarians who voted against. The newspaper points out that, as in the case of the original decree, the amount allocated and the list of military materials and weapons sent are not made public.
According to the newspaper, new funding is needed, since the funds allocated so far for this purpose have been exhausted. La Repubblica also writes that armored vehicles will include guided weapons, as well as anti-tank weapons and uniforms.
On April 14, Foreign and Defense Ministers Luigi Di Maio and Lorenzo Guerini held an interdepartmental meeting at which, among other things, issues "related to assistance to Ukraine and Italy's contribution to NATO activities" were discussed.
