Argentina and Chile have suspended supplies of lithium to the Russian Federation.
The statement came from Deputy Director of the Metallurgy and Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vladislav Demidov, SIA reports.
"There is no production of lithium in Russia, the raw material in the form of lithium carbonate is mainly imported from Chile, Argentina, China and Bolivia. "In the current situation, transportation from Chile and Argentina has been suspended, and now we can only receive raw materials from Bolivia," he said at a roundtable in the Russian Federation Council.
Demidov stressed that China has the opportunity to supply raw materials, but they themselves are experiencing a severe shortage of these raw materials.
