In 2021, there will be a significant increase in the number of patent applications in Europe.
The European Patent Office registered a record number of 188,600 applications last year, SIA reports quoting APA. This means an annual increase of 4.5 percent.
The organization, headquartered in Munich announced that, the number of pandemic appeals fell by 0.7 percent in 2020.
Although the number of applications varies by sector, the tendency does not change. Most of the applicants apply for ICT (15,400) and medical technology (15,231) copyrights.
It is noted that the increase in the number of patents is an indicator of the serious investment of enterprises in scientific research.
