Azerbaijan will assist in the restoration of 10 schools and the repair of 100 schools in Syria, Tarık Sulo Cevizci, a Syrian MP from Aleppo, stated at the 2nd forum titled "Turkman Heritage: Solidarity of Civil Societies," Report informs.
The lawmaker noted that Azerbaijan is supporting Syria in many areas: "Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to establish contact with Syria's new leadership in the current stage. By sending diplomatic representatives to Damascus, Azerbaijan demonstrated readiness to develop cooperation and played a key role in restoring interstate relations. Azerbaijan's humanitarian aid has made a significant contribution to overcoming the consequences of the war. In addition, Baku provides support in the economic, cultural, and energy spheres."
He also underlined the historic significance of Syrian President Ahmed al‑Sharaa's visit to Azerbaijan: "The meetings held by the Syrian head of state during this visit are of great importance for strengthening the strategic partnership between our countries," he added.
