At the initiative of the head of the Peru-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, the Congress of Peru adopted a congratulatory statement addressed to Azerbaijanis worldwide on the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), SİA informs, citing Azerbaijan's Embassy in Peru.
The statement emphasizes that the ADR was the first democratic state in the East, ensuring equal rights for all citizens. It also notes that people of all religions and ethnic groups live together in peace and mutual understanding in Azerbaijan.
The document highlights Azerbaijan's significant achievements in the fields of economy, energy, technology, education, and social development, as well as its strengthened leadership role in the Caucasus region and expanding international relations.
The statement further underscores that diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Peru were established in 1996, and that Azerbaijan is considered an important partner for Peru.
