UN General Assembly approves resolution demanding Israel withdraw from Golan Heights
The United Nations (UN) General Assembly has approved a resolution demanding Israel's withdrawal from the region and declaring Syria's occupation and de facto annexation of the Golan Heights illegal, SİA reports.
The draft resolution submitted by Egypt was put to a vote in the General Assembly.
123 member states voted in favor of the resolution titled "Syrian Golan Heights", while seven states, led by Israel and the United States, voted against it.
Forty-one countries abstained from voting.
