Azerbaijan entrusted with aligning key COP30 Global Stocktake document

Azerbaijan has been tasked by Brazil with coordinating one of the key outcome documents of COP30-the Global Stocktake (GST) under the Paris Agreement, SİA informs.

Following the transfer of COP leadership to Brazil, Azerbaijan continues to play an active role in climate diplomacy.

Thanks to growing confidence in Baku's leadership, the country has been assigned important responsibilities within the climate negotiation process. Together with Brazil, Azerbaijani representatives have already prepared the Baku to Belém Roadmap, aimed at increasing global climate financing to $1.3 trillion. The document was presented at COP30 and received broad support from participating nations.

In addition, Azerbaijan and Norway have been entrusted with negotiating two major COP30 decisions, including the selection of the host country for COP31. These talks, conducted on behalf of COP30 President André Corrêa do Lago, are being led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and Norway's Minister of Climate and Environment Andreas Bjelland Eriksen.
