Baltic states prepare evacuation plan in case of possible conflict with Russia

Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are reportedly preparing emergency evacuation plans to relocate hundreds of thousands of people in the event of a potential Russian attack, SİA reports citing Reuters.

The three Baltic nations, alarmed by Russia’s growing military spending, are said to be developing contingency strategies to manage mass displacement should Russian troops mobilize or launch an offensive.

The report notes that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have long expressed concerns to other members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) about what they describe as the threat of “Russian aggression” and consider such a scenario possible.

Earlier, Lithuania had voiced its protest against Russia following Moscow’s military strikes on Ukraine, with Vilnius delivering a formal note of protest to Russia’s Chargé d’Affaires, Alexander Elkin.
