Czech Republic bars entry to Russian diplomats without national accreditation

The Czech government has announced that Russian diplomats and holders of service passports without national accreditation will no longer be allowed to enter the country, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský announced, SİA reports.

The decision, adopted on September 30, will be enforced at international airports.

“Today, the government banned the entry of Russian diplomats and holders of service passports without national accreditation into the Czech Republic. This measure applies at international airports,” Lipavský, who initiated the measure, said.

Lipavský emphasized that the move comes amid a rise in provocations: “We will not take risks because of agents operating under diplomatic cover.”

He added that Prague intends to continue setting an example within the Schengen zone. “We are taking the strictest measures and I will ensure this continues. We will protect the Czech Republic,” the minister stated.
