Omer Kocaman: Azerbaijan plays key role in Turkic world

Given its strategic geographic location, Azerbaijan today plays a key role in the Turkic world, serving as a vital link in the development of trade and transport links in the region, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Ömer Kocaman, said at the conference "The Organization of Turkic States as a Regional Player in the Age of Global Uncertainty" in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, Azerbaijan plays a significant role in the development and establishment of the OTS as a strong regional actor.

"It is noteworthy that the document establishing our organization – the Nakhchivan Declaration – was signed in Azerbaijan. Today, Azerbaijan plays the role of a bridge in the Turkic world," Kocaman added.

He also recalled that Azerbaijan will soon host a summit of OTS leaders: "On October 6-7 this year, the beautiful city of Gabala will host a summit of OTS heads of state. I believe that the discussions and ideas that will emerge from our deliberations at the conference today will also contribute to the results of the summit in Gabala."
