Nearly 2,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed in the war in Ukraine, Yonhap citing South Korean intelligence stated, SİA reports
The source reported that Pyongyang may deploy additional forces to the front. Intelligence sources indicate that North Korea is also planning to send around 6,000 more troops to Russia as part of a third deployment phase.
Since October of last year, North Korea has reportedly dispatched about 13,000 soldiers and weapons to support Russia’s military campaign against Ukraine. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has become a firm backer of Moscow in the conflict, providing material, military, and diplomatic assistance.
Overall, estimates suggest that the DPRK has sent more than 10,000 soldiers to Russia’s Kursk region to fight on its side, with some units suffering significant losses.
